Getting Service the Old School Way

Nick Starr, frustrated by the fact that the new IMAP feature remains disabled his Gmail account, decided to take matters into his own hands by posting a letter on the door of Google HQ. No space is sacred in this customer-centric world. (By the way, Nick wrote the letter in Google Docs.)

It also didn't work. Per Nick's Twitter stream he is still waiting for IMAP. Google probably has a rollout plan, and does accounts in bulk per what server they are on, and can't deviate from it for one particular user.

Another rule of getting good service is being realistic about the expectations.

they can truly deviate from there plans for one user if that one user is strong enough in the blogosphere..

saw the influence of Darren of problogger when he lost is PR..is took merely few days for him to get back his PR..

it is all about influence!!

Arg!!! I feel the same exact way! I got GMail very early on and all my friends (late adopters) who have recently signed up have IMAP. And of course they all thought iMAP was a new product from Apple when I asked them! :-)

His letter reminds me that Google Docs "Check spelling" is hidden in the bottom right.

Well it's hard to contact google unless you are purchasing adwords, so that's one way of getting the message across!
