Five Incredibly Useful Things You Can Do Without Ever Leaving Facebook
I have been spending a fair amount of time on Facebook since they updated the news feed feature, mostly because I can get a quick read on what's new. I like how they show you "trends from friends." In the process, I am discovering that it's becoming a one-stop shop for many of my day-to-day activities. Here are five things that I recently found you can do right from within Facebook without having to leave...
1) Read, search and post tweets via Twitgether, a full-featured Twitter client
2) Watch TV streams via Hulu
3) Catch up with the local weather, using WeatherBug
4) Read blog and news RSS feeds with Frontpage News
5) Follow sports scores and more via Citizen Sports

Steve, what's the advantage of doing stuff like checking the weather or watching Hulu from within Facebook?
Thanx for the valuable information. This was just the thing I was looking for, keep posting. Will be visiting back soon.
Steve - are you spending more time within Facebook as opposed to doing those things the "old fashioned" way?
pat uzitocnych veci ktore mozete urobit bez toho aby ste opustili FB
Please drop the mouse and Step back from the computer :)Hey since 98.9% of all status updates are lame and worthlesscan't blame you for looking for cool things to do :)I'm going to check out that twitgether thanks
Facebook looks a lot like my AOL home page looked in the 1990s. What are the advantages to accessing from w/in FB and not the webpages themselves?
Facebook is simply evolving. It wants as many users as possible and wants them to have as much control over their interface as possible. It does not surprise me that those tools are available through Facebook. (I think it is more surprising to see what other apps and tools are also implemented in FB.) Everyone is looking for that silver bullet, the one-stop shop. This is Facebook attempting it by incorporating popular tools, manipulation of interface, detailed privacy settings, etc. I can't wait to see them take it to the next step and do something truly original and unseen before in social media.
The Facebook home page emerges - overrunning cnn.com which is probably good thing.
Thanks Steve, good list. In addition to Hulu, ClipBlast gives you the tools to watch, save and share video from thousands of great video sources from across the web within Facebook. CliplBlast : http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=5423824121&v=info
Excellent post....
Most of that crap will get you nothing more than spyware on your PC, especially WeatherBug. Hulu, on the other hand, is good. But through facebook? We just don't get why! LOL
