As the World Tweets

Neat visual look at how the world wakes up on Twitter...
GoodMorning! is a Twitter visualization tool that shows about 11,000 ‘good morning’ tweets over a 24 hour period, rendering a simple sample of Twitter activity around the globe. The tweets are colour-coded: green blocks are early tweets, orange ones are around 9am, and red tweets are later in the morning. Black blocks are ‘out of time’ tweets which said good morning (or a non-english equivalent) at a strange time in the day.

Looks like alot more insomniacs in the East and Chicago area. UK at about one o'clock also a lot of green. Should we move West?
Can u make the picture a little larger and make the globe revolve. Then you'll have a hot app.
Impressive that it took five days to gather this info, after he tweaked his code to get the desired result....
I stumbled across Trendsmap.com this weekend. It displays the global tweets in real-time. And you can click on any trending keyword to see who's tweeting about it and what they're saying. I have no affiliation with it, but it's fascinating to browse and run across trends that are bubbling up locally.
Better, or worse than the original above?
Not really comparable. The video above is of one phrase over the course of two days. Trendsmap looks at all trending phrases in real-time.It's an impressive visualization, but still pretty limited.
